Welcome to the 8th annual De Facto Film Awards! In honor of the Oscars airing on March 15th, we ended up tabulating our personal picks, as voted on by our own writers. This year our selections also includes the new Best Casting category. As Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another battles it out with Ryan Coogler’s Sinners for the major categories, we have added some great variety to our nominations and winners. We would love to hear your personal favorites in each category.

I’m still going with Sinners for Best Picture and Ryan Coogler for Best Director. However if they give to One Battle After Another, and P.T.A , for Best Picture and Director, I will not be disappointed. There will be no miss carriage of justice the way you had in 1998 ( Saving Private Ryan ) and the year of O.I.S.W. The Academy really got it right this year ( Except for leaving out Jonathan Majors: Magazine Dreams ).
My personal choice would be Hamnet, but I would be happy with Sinners, One Battle After Another or Train Dreams. For sure Timothe Chalamet for best actor though!
I have some quibbles, but this is a solid collection
